1.1 Corporation Focus
House Aratus offers a home for dedicated Industrialists, Miners, for those interested in Commerce, Mission Runners and players interested in PvP. House Aratus has prospered and grown through teamwork and dedication, so as an active member you will need to show an interest in the growth and development of the corp.
Encouraging a mix of activities we offer a rewarding experience that focuses on a pleasant and stable environment for all House Aratus members. While endorsing a state of fair play within the corporation, we also wish to promote a state where membership contribution will allow a steady flow of solidarity and development.
As a Corporation we follow in the belief that team work benefits us more than solo play, and as such if you are not prepared to contribute to group activities then House Aratus is not for you. We are mainly an English speaking, International time-zone corporation.
Following below you can read our objectives. Please think about our objectives before you consider applying.
1.2 What we do
Events consisting of Mission Runs, Minning Operations as well as Low-sec Roams.
A state of independence through the acquisition of wealth. This we achieve through Commerce, Industry, Manufacturing, Missions and Mining, allowing us to sell throughout New Eden.
Long term exploration has given us the opportunity to learn the many corridors of the galaxy, opening up the way for discoveries and prospects to areas rich in capital and resources. We offer and undertake missions into unknown space via exploration into wormholes for large scale profit acquisition as well as low sec.
Our ability to haul large quantities of our assets to any given point lends freedom to our endeavours; whereas our fleets of mining vessels secure the flow of minerals to our industry and POS under the watchful eye of our military.

2.1 How to get involved?
You get involved in the corporation by taking part in our objectives. Be proactive and help with the events that are scheduled – check the calendar, it’s where we organize things – don’t just sit back and wait for something to happen! Show your enthusiasm by getting to know other members both in-game and by contributing to these forums. In no time at all you’ll be part of the team and having a great time!
2.2 Form Fleets
When you can form groups to do things together, Eve can be a dangerous place and you know it will be safer in a Fleet than on your own. We’ve all lost ships, so avoid the pain by organizing missions with fellow members. The rewards will be better as more will be accomplished in less time.
2.3 Support each other
You are expected at all times to support your fellow members. Whether being attacked on missions or dealing with issues concerning understanding the game’s mechanics or even offering moral support. Remember we are not competing against each other. We work as a team and there is no other way to achieve our objectives, as well as advancing our skills and competency, if we don’t work as a team together. In Eve we come first!
2.4 The best of the best
Much of how we succeed in the long term will be decided by the skills of our members. We encourage you all to be the best that you can be. Take your time to become as proficient as you can in the career that you decide to follow. Capitalize on your abilities by sharing your knowledge with other members of House Aratus.

3.1 Respect fellow members
All members will show respect to other members even if they don’t share similar views. The Corporation will not tolerate rudeness or personal attacks of any kind either in-game or on the forums. If you feel that another member has behaved irrespectively towards you then you should contact a commander or director and privately explain what happened.
3.2 Member Disputes
You are required to resolve any disputes you have with other members in a private and mature fashion. We will not tolerate any public disputes either in-game or on the forums. If members are unable to resolve a dispute then they should take it up with commander or director in private who will resolve it for them. Remember that we are a team and should be working together!
3.3 Corporation Policy Amendments
Please remember that the corporation rules must be followed at all times. By joining House Aratus you are committed to abiding by these rules.
If however you feel that a Corporation policy or rule is not well implemented or needs to be changed, you can either voice your opinion via these forums or discuss it privately with a commander or director. We will not tolerate any negativity, whining or ranting like posts.
Any objections or suggestions to Corporation policy will be discussed by the Council Chamber which may or may not seek further opinion from members before a decision is reached. All decisions made by the Council Chamber on all aspects of Corporation Policy are final. Please accept decisions gracefully even if it is not to your liking.
3.4 Corporation Inactivity
It is perfectly normal for members to want to take some time off from Eve. However, for the smooth running of the Corporation members who plan to be away must inform commanders or directors that you will be away and for how long. So if you plan on being away for more than a couple of weeks please let us know.
The following rules for member inactivity will apply:
Ensign - 14 days reminder, 30 days removal from Corporation
Midshipman - 14 days reminder, (Status = Inactive), 45 days removal from Corporation
Sub-Lieutenant, Lieutenant, Marshall, Commodore and Captain - 14 days reminder, (Status = Inactive), 60 days removal from Corporation
Commanders - 14 days reminder, 30 days demotion (Status = Inactive), 60 days removal from Corporation
Any member, other than Ensign, removed from the in-game roster will be classified as Retired on these forums. Retired players will be re-invited automatically at any time in the future without needing to make a new application. Players that keep in contact regularly after 14 days with the definite intention of resuming play will simply be classified as Inactive.
These rules will be applied consistently and without exception, and in particular for Corporation Commanders who are expected to be more active than most.
3.5 Other Corporations
House Aratus membership requires that you do not belong to any other Corporation in Eve.
3.6 Leaving the Corporation
Leaving the Corporation will mean removal from the in-game roster as well as access to the member’s forums.
Ensigns will lose any awards or points that might have accumulated. Returning will require updating their application and a new 4 week trial period.
Midshipman, Sub-Lieutenant, Lieutenants, Marshalls, Commodores and Captains that leave will be recorded as Retired but will not lose any awards or points. Returning members, other than Ensigns, will gain full membership status.

After two warnings members that continue to break Corporation policy will be removed from House Aratus.

4.1 Open Hostilities
Any hostile action towards House Aratus or its members will be deemed threatening and as such will be judged as an act of war. Any repeated attacks on members must be reported via the House Aratus forums. The decision to attack those who have attacked you first is up to you, but any decision to attack any other member of the Corp that attacked you must be authorised by the War Council.
4.2 Voting
A majority vote will follow over a 24 hour period that will determine a course of action via Council.

4.5 Plunder
Personnel responsible for collecting plunder from wars will be appointed prior to conflict commitment by the Commanders or Captains. In other words, the person/persons responsible for collecting the plunder will be assigned that position before battle.
4.6 Don’t Brag
House Aratus fights with honour. If you win a battle don’t brag about it…if you lose then lose gracefully. Don’t get involved in exchanging words of hate with the enemy. If a dialogue begins keep it focused and specific to the battle. Do not make it personal.
4.7 Conduct
Members of House Aratus represent this Corp at all times and in doing so should behave with honour and integrity. Your reputation becomes closely linked with our reputation, so if you make enemies the Corp makes them as well, if you make allies then so does the Corp. Our future in New Eden depends on all of us and in how best we conduct our business and daily affairs.

You will also need to send your full API key along with your API user ID to DrivingForce via in game mail - Sharing your API key, full or limited, does NOT give people access to your account. For more information on how to get your API key click here - http://www.eveonline.com/api/default.asp
6.2 Joining
Once you have applied to join us via our forums, you will then be contacted to proceed to join us in Eve.
6.3 Trial Period
After 4 to 6 weeks there will be a Council vote on whether you should be granted full membership to the Corp. The assessment will be based on your activity in-game as well as your activity on these forums. So try to stay active, participate in the events that are organized and don’t be shy to ask for help and advice, we definitely will enjoy your company. If you are not active, meaning you are not participating in corp held events, activities or never log into the forum in order to be aware of corp progress, then this corp is most likely not for you and you will be excluded from House Aratus at the end of your trial period.
6.4 Prerequisites
At the moment we are recruiting skilled pilots but for a small period of time we are also accepting new pilots with a minimum of 2 million SP.
You should be able to show dedication towards the Corp and take pleasure in grouping as well as contributing by getting involved in events and forum discussions.

You can have more than one character in the Corporation.
7.2 Corporation Awards and Promotions
The Corporation rewards members that give their support. We use a point system that accumulates, thereby raising a member’s rank. This increases your Corp status opening up opportunities for promotion and reward. Members that reach the rank of Commodore are awarded a Council seat, which in turn consigns you as an Advisor on the Council to be involved in Corp decision making.
Each new Rank that a member reaches is also awarded with an ISK or Item award, depending on the Rank.
Points are given for attending events or when nominated by members for service and loyalty towards the Corp.
7.3 Decorations
Members receive decorations in game for service and honour. They are linked to 7.2.
7.4 Username Policy
Please refrain from using meaningless names. Try and avoid using names that contain numbers or symbols. Words that are offensive or derogatory are not allowed. Use game theme related names that are clever or original in nature.
7.5 Voice Communication
The use of Voice Communication is mandatory when engaged in Fleet missions that involve combat PvP or PvE - or when travelling or mining in dangerous low security level areas in a Fleet. You will need to react much more quickly under these circumstances and typing it down in chat just won’t work, it’s simply not fast enough when you need to deal with high risk scenarios where seconds matter and your team mates are counting on you.
Our Ventrilo Server is for corp use. You can use it for Mining, Missioning, PVP and general chatting.
A working microphone is obligatory and you must be able to talk when required, even if you desire just to listen in the majority of the time.
